Last year we had to cancel Sarah’s birthday party due to Covid. This year even though we aren’t completely out of the Covid tiers (we are in orange) we still wanted to celebrate the birthday girl. We started the morning off with a birthday doughnut (a family tradition), sang and opened gifts.
After school we had a little family zoom celebration. Thank you to everyone who was able to make it! I know a middle of the day zoom can be difficult.
Later in the day we had her friends swing by for a birthday parade (sorry for not getting pictures with everyone).
Everyone received edible wands (chocolate covered pretzel rods) and the parents received magic potions (bottles of flavored tequila).
A few friends mentioned they wanted to stop by and hang out for a bit so I quickly came up with a few backyard snacks and crafts for those that were comfortable staying. So thankful for Amazon 2 day shipping and Pinterest!
The snacks were: Nimbus 2000’s = thin pretzels in Reese’s cups. Raven Claws = Buggles. Slytherin Snakes = Sour worms. Huffle Puffs = cheese puffs. Gryffindor Grapes = green grapes. Butter Beer = vanilla ice cream and cream soda.
I picked up cheesecake (Sarah’s favorite) from Ralph’s and stuck a cake topper I ordered on Amazon. Ta Da! We had cake.
Thank you to everyone for making our girl feel loved and special on her birthday!
