Lake Arrowhead {2015}

When Sarah was a baby we rented a cabin in Lake Arrowhead with hubby’s family.

Sarah has been talking about seeing snow for a couple weeks now, so hubby and I decided we would take a day trip on the first day of 2015 to see the snow. We once again headed to Lake Arrowhead (this time only with his mom) for a snow adventure.

Driving towards the mountain, the roads were empty and scenery was beautiful. We loved spotting the snow capped mountains.

It’s been freezing in So Cal (high 30’s to low 40’s) so we were expecting there to be a lot of snow.

Luckily we were right. There were 6 inches of fresh snow when we arrived!

The first thing Sarah wanted to do when she saw the snow was make a snow angel.

Then she got up and ran around in the snow.

Hubby and Sarah attempted to make a snow man, but she was sad when she found out we didn’t have a carrot for his nose.Instead we threw snowballs at one another.

We got back into our car, warmed up and stopped for some hot cocoa. Then we stopped in the village to find Sarah a sled.

We walked around, ate some lunch and hung out by the lake.

It was such a gorgeous day!

We couldn’t find a sled, but we had a back up plan. Hubby bought a container at Wal-Mart so that we could use the lid as a sled.

It didn’t work so well. Luckily the nice people near us asked if we wanted to borrow their sled.

We had lot’s of fun, but we were freezing! My Ugg boots were done.

We packed up and headed back home while watching the sunset.

My daughter who refuses to nap in her car seat actually took an hour long nap. Not only did she miss her nap earlier in the day, but she was wiped! We were all pooped and happy to finally be at home.
